There is an SEO contest going on to see who can rank the highest for the term “Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World” by May 1st 2008. The contest has really taken on quite a viral life of its on and has been very interesting. As an amateur SEO it has been fun to watch the contestants and the ones who “claim” they are not competing put their skills to work.

I am on “Team Eric” in the competition. We have been having a lot of fun as we test the theory that the best SEO comes from the relationships built on the internet. We are using SEO best practices in the competition but our main asset is the friends we have and the trust we have built with our piers. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out in the end.

I am a professional Realtor and a wanna be SEO so this has been mostly fun for me. The skills I learn I use to increase my web presence as a Realtor. I will be sharing some of the things we learn here at a later time.

This is actually my first post on this blog. I hope to post on here about the struggles and triumphs I have and have had as I learn hard lessons about search engines and what it takes to rank for keywords in Real Estate. It has been an interesting journey so far but I have made some great friends along the way and hope to make more in the future!
